honor oak park
A neglected space turned over after building works on the house was filled with colour and height with a long-interest flowering season. With two cats living at the property, and neighbouring visiting cats from other gardens, it was important to include plants that are fully pet-friendly. There was a desire by the clients to retain the entire lawn space in the centre of the garden, so the perimeter planting includes as wide a diversity of plants that could happily co-exist in the space. The fences were painted in Farrow and Ball Railings.
An island bed was added to extend the planting space and bring it right up to the house, with Prunus ‘The Bride’ giving height for privacy, vibrant autumn colours and stunning spring blossom. Subtle uplighters placed beneath the cherry, albizia, acer and lilac celebrate the plant forms when viewed from the house in the evening.
